Dr. Joseph Kim is President of Q Synthesis LLC, a healthcare quality improvement company that works to advance interprofessional collaborative practice by applying principles of systems thinking, implementation science, and health services research. He is a co-author on publications and abstracts presented at ACCC, ASCO, ASCO Quality Care Symposium, ASCP, ASH, IASLC, IHI, NSGC, and SABCS. Dr. Kim is an active member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (Alliance), serving on the Alliance Board of Directors from 2017 to 2025. He serves on the ASCP Quality & Patient Safety Steering Committee and is a reviewer for the Journal for Healthcare Quality. Dr. Kim earned his BS in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), his MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), an MPH from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University. He holds an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an Executive Healthcare Leadership Certificate from Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the Alliance, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Certified Maxwell Leadership Coach, and a Certified Kotter Advanced Change Leader.
