NLP Data Scientist Position Details

What You’ll Do

  • Working closely with engineering leadership to build new solutions to real-world problems
  • Build machine learning models to analyze and detect common patterns in treatment plans for cancer patients, develop insights on patient care pathways, anomaly detection, etc
  • Build NLP models to derive data from molecular testing results, treatment notes and decisions and from other pre-existing sources
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to build the best solution for both the company and customers
  • Getting your features out to real customers using the OncoLens platform every single day

What You Should Have

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (computational linguistics/psychology, computer science/engineering, mathematics, etc.)
  • Experience building NLP solutions at scale from inception to business impact. Proven ability to tailor your solutions to a business problem in a cross-functional team.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning techniques and their mathematical underpinnings, such as classification, clustering, regression, optimization, deep neural network, especially RNNs and transformers, and other NLP techniques.
  • Working knowledge of relevant areas of linguistics: syntax, parts of speech, phonetics, semantics.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Can communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. Diverse publication experience a plus.
  • Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, DataBricks
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A solid command of distributed source control systems such as Git
  • Exposure to concepts of cloud-based computing in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • Experience with microservice architectures.
