(Sr.) DIRECTOR, PRODUCT MANAGEMENT, DATA SOLUTIONS Position Details

What You’ll Do

This role is responsible for defining customer and business needs for our life science (pharma and diagnostic) customers, translating those needs to the development teams and ensuring the best product functionality is released into the marketplace. You will bring a strong product management, analytical and technical background with deep experience in ideating and delivering SaaS-based software solutions to the life science healthcare industry. This role is instrumental in working alongside the company’s leadership to develop and lead our data related product strategy for both growing share with existing customers and attracting new customers in the same, or parallel, healthcare settings. The role will have aggressive targets and will drive revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, customer retention and growth as a business.

  • Be a key member of the leadership team – Inspire employees across the organization, beyond one’s immediate team. Promote the company’s values and be a role model for leaders in the organization.
  • Set a Vision: Own the strategy development, business case, product build and launch for innovative Data and Analytics offerings. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to aid decision making about product concept, strategy, and content. Apply lean product principles for roadmap development for all products within the portfolio.
  • Vision Communication: Responsible for regular business reviews and roadmap presentations to customers, internal and executive stakeholders, and sales prospects.
  • Build for Scale: Accountable for driving roadmap prioritization with a balance between innovation, scalability, and platform health requirements.
  • Customer Advocate: Drive market research, user research, data analysis and user testing to inform product requirements and prioritization. Understand customer and market needs. Contribute customer, product, and market knowledge to inform decisions on product vision and strategy. Participate in face-to-face activities with customers including advisory boards, customer visits and presenting at trade shows.
  • Product Management Formalism: Deep experience in product life cycle formalism, including development of processes, standards, and tools to capture requirements and managing roadmap sequencing across multiple teams to achieve speed to market and customer value. Experience launching MVP solutions to the market with the proven ability to monetize and commercialize new product concepts.
  • Go to Market: Partner with marketing to develop go to market strategy for product launch and ongoing management of product success. Collaborate with Customer Experience and Customer Success teams to ensure successful feature/product launch.
  • Portfolio Management: Lead problem-solving efforts across product leads to identify and remove impediments to growth while increasing customer satisfaction/retention. Instill data-driven decision models that leverage financial and customer adoption-oriented insights for portfolio life cycle decisions.
  • Follow and support corporate security policies, standards, and procedures as they apply to this role. Maintain customer and corporate privacy standards as outlined by HIPAA.
  • Guide and assist the development and UI/UX team to enhance development of themes and user stories and acceptance criteria for improved communication and definition of user needs, to increase productivity of development staff and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, external vendors and external communities/councils to determine the best solutions to strategically enhance product line and improve client satisfaction.
  • Understand and participate in a lean and agile process based on the Scaled Agile Framework.

What You Should Have

  • Minimum of 6 years of Product Management (or related field) experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with Pharmaceuticals and/or Diagnostic customers.
  • Background in oncology (data) a plus.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data including EMR, claims, utilization of unstructured and structured data. Past experience combining large data sets to derive insights.
  • Familiarity with data architecture concepts and expert determination.
  • Experience working with Cerner, Athena, Epic and other hospital EMR systems a plus.
  • Experience interfacing with internal development engineering team in terms of feature and implementation requirements, user acceptance testing and release milestones.
  • Proficiency in MS Project or other PM tool and PMP methodology.
  • Ability to support proposal responses, including customer driven RFPs or grant proposals.
  • Strategic Leader and ability to represent company, demo solution at customer/prospect meetings
  • Proven track record driving innovation on behalf of internal and external consumers.
  • Experience delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment with a demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements.
  • Strong empathy for customers and the ability to think from the customers perspective.
  • Broad range of skills from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
